"Quote by Robert Kiyosaki: 'We were not taught financial literacy in school. It takes alot of work and time to change your thinking and to become financially literate.'

One of the things which impacts everyone in life irrespective of our interest in it is money.

Everyone is involved in decision making related to money almost on a daily basis. Guess what? No one teaches us about money. Unfortunately, financial literacy is not part of any school / graduation curriculum. A person is just supposed to somehow figure out one of the important skills required in life.

“Financial education plays a vital role in creating demand side response by enabling greater awareness and access to appropriate financial products and services. There is a need to enhance customer protection and financial education so that people continue to access the formal financial services without hesitation.” - Shaktikanta Das, RBI Governor

Millions of people have made, are making and will make financial mistakes in their life. The money is lost in the share market, ponzi schemes, lured by insurance agents and what not. Mistakes are part of life and if you are not making them then you are not doing and learning anything.

Financial literacy refers to the ability of taking effective decisions regarding finance.

At an individual level it mostly includes budgeting, savings, taxation and investments. Sometimes, it may involve the decisions of buy v/s renting, for example, whether to buy a house or rent it, whether to buy a car or use public transport including shared taxis and much more.

“The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes.” —Sherlock Holmes

Dealing with money needs common sense and not a master’s degree at an individual level. Someone has said that common sense is not so common. People have a strong tendency to go along with the status quo or default options and need to be nudged from time to time to see beyond the path they are following.

We at Spring Money are building a well-rounded financial literacy programme to empower people to make better financial decisions and nudge them regularly to stay on the right path in their financial journey. We are bringing everything about money you should know under one roof and all that in your language. The content is created by financial professionals, without any promotions or ads and most importantly specially curated, designed and delivered in most suitable as well as intuitive manner.
